<p>Did you know that simple modifications to your inhalation and exhalation can alter your mental clarity, body temperature, metabolism and other functions of the central nervous system?  Combining mudras, or hand gestures, can amplify the positive results by altering physiological and cognitive functioning.</p>
<p>A few examples of mudras and pranayama benefits:</p>
<ul>
<li>Combining      Yoni Mudra and Khapala Bhati can increase womens’ health (postpartum      issues, increase fertility, alleviate the symptoms of menopause)</li>
<li>Using      Dhyana Mudra and engaging in Brahmari breath exponentially affects your      parasympathetic nervous system to calm your body and mind with rapid      speed.</li>
<li>While      practicing Ujjayi breath, placing your hands in Linga Mudra increases the      workings of your immune system, especially with respect to respiratory      functions such as asthma.</li>
<li>Shitkari      breath will help to cool a pregnant woman’s body (in my opinion, a MUST in      Singapore)</li>
<li>A few      morning rounds of Bhastrika breath will energize you more than a cup of      coffee!</li>
